Couldn't leave well enough alone..help!

I installed my Quantum 3D X-24 into my Win98 PC, to see if it worked since buying the card years back I had never used it. Well, it worked fine, but it was really getting hot after running Grand Prix Legends for a few hours. Decide to remove it since it worked fine and put my two Voodoo cards back in. This is were the trouble started.
I had a downloaded copy of FastVoodoo Gold edition and decide to give these third party drivers a try. I was careful to uninstall all of the Quantum 3D files so I could reinstall the Voodoo 2 cards and FastVoodoo as a clean install. Followed the readme instructions and the FastVoodoo drivers seemed to install on both cards fine.
Then I clicked on display, then when I went to system info the "SLI detected" showed but the memory total was only for one card. To test it out I ran another Glide sim in 1024X768 and sure enough I got an error stating that my card did not support that resolution. For some reason FastVoodoo was only seeing one card.
I thought.."Great, I fried one of my V2 cards". I removed the FastVoodoo Drivers, then installed the most current Monster 3D Drivers for my monster 3D II cards. Now the memory configuration in system info was totalling up to 24mb....I thought that maybe the Fastvoodoo did not like my system or I had messed up the install somehow, but now everything looked OK.
I fired up a few glide games and the same thing happened.....no 1024X768. It had to be something I did since these cards had worked faultlessly in 1024X768 before trying out the X-24.
Any ideas as to what is possibly wrong?

FalconFly,
Yes I did.....when the problem started I checked the device manger and it showed both cards correctly. I am going to pull the cards and uninstall all the driver files, remove the cards in the Device Manager, then do another fresh install.

Not sure what happened, but a good cleaning and a fresh install fixed the problem
