Bored at work so I thought I'd ask, what got you guys started. For me, the first Mac that came out kind of did it (yeah I'm getting old  :P), then it was Might and magic I/II/III over at a friends house then was the Ultima series, then Windows 95 came out. Played Might and Magic Clouds of Xeen and Darkside of Xeen, and then Duke Nukem came out. That was great until my friend brought me over to his other friends place who had Duke setup of Lan. I asked him what that was since I didn't even know you could hook up a pc together like that before. That was the night everything changed. I drooled, I awed, I was amazed at what you could do with pc's especially if you had more then one. That's when I had finally figured out what I was going to do with my life, CREATE GAMES!!  hehehe That never turned out but I did end up becoming a Network Admin sooooo.  We got over there at about 3 pm and I kept my friend and his friend up until 4 the next morning (the two other guys went to bed at midnight). I couldn't get enough, I was having a blast. I think I anniod the hell out of both of them cuz I wouldn't let them sleep. Sleeping meant we had to leave in the morning and I didn't want to leave.  :P  After that, there was Shadow Warrior and then the rest is history.

Just thought I'd see how you guys got started or if you even remember for some of you old timers.  :P   ;)

I started playing on my first console ever, the Game Gear, with Sonic the Hedgehog, Aladdin, Daffy Duck in Hollywood ans stuff like that. It wasn't that much time ago (1993/94), but for me it is. Nice memories playing my Game Gear in the dark...

I was just drawned along. I didn't chose computing it chose me. We had a computer since I was in the craddle and also my cousings too( they still have the commondore 64 somewhere) First I just wathced from a side until I was let try play called Moposota(=Mopedwar in english, made in 1990 by Jani Metsätähti) it was hilarious game because of its characters(darth vader, Mihail Gorbatsov etc..) put the best hame was Paintbrush then ;D soon I realised that it wasn't a game. since 5 years old I have been playing games and drawing pics with computer

LAN party later at the office when Quake (shareware) was put on the network. I found it in a well hidden "shared" folder called Quake Fix.

Launched it and found it was a well kept secret and there were always co-workers fragging one another all hours of the work day :-X
