hmm okay I get it now.

1.

Voodoo3 1000 AGP 8MB SGRAM "Bonesteel" was normally used in Compaq USA, Gateway USA and Dell USA PC's it had the PCB layout of the Velocity 100 and it has both TMU's enabled , it speed is 125Mhz core/mem.

2.

Voodoo3 1000 AGP 16MB SGRAM Compaq USA of Gateway USA runs core/mem  125Mhz and has both TMU's eneabled.

3.

Voodoo3 2000 AGP 16MB SGRAM has both TMU's eneabled and same PCB layout as V31K 16MB SGRAM But runs at 143Mhz Core/Mem , so that's a difference.

4.

Velocity 100 AGP 8MB SGRAM has actually the Bonesteel PCB , it has one of two TMU's disabled and runs core/mem at 143Mhz.

5.

Velocity 200 AGP 16MB SGRAM has same PCB layout as V31K 16MB SGRAM, it has one of two TMU's disabled and runs at 143Mhz Core/Mem.

so whe have 5 different Avenger based cards whit 2 different PCB's LOL  Cheesy  Roll Eyes Cheesy

No- The term "Bonesteel" was used just by Gateway, and Gateway was the only OEM to ship a PC with a V3 with one TMU.

Dell and Gateway used normal V3-3000 with SDRAM, some did have no TV out however.

Compaq's was advertised as a V3-1000.

This is correct as far as the Compaq V3-1000 goes, I have no information on anything from Comp USA.

More then that! Look at the breakdown-

V3-2000/3000 with SDRAM AGP
V3-3500 with SDRAM AGP tuner
V3-3500 Compaq SDRAM AGP no tuner

V3-2000/3000 SDRAM PCI with Compaq 3500 style PCB

V3-2000/3000 PCI with SGRAM

V3-1000 Compaq AGP

V3- Velocity/Bonesteel AGP

Thanks Gary For help'n out on the Info , hehe Avenger is my favourite 3dfx Voodoo segment Smiley

and how about that Quantum 3D V3 3500 that runs at 166Mhz, I suppose you forgot that one Wink

Funny though, it's called a Voodoo3 3500 but it runs at 166Mhz Core/Mem, so a normal V3 3500 would be faster? or does the Quantum 3D V3 3500 have higher Nanosecond speed ratings for the Ram ?

Don't forget the 200MHz clocked Falcon Northwest;
http://www.xs4all.nl/~jfeelder/voodoousers/infov3oem.html

I do wonder, what's the logic behind the numbering of the cards (1000, 2000, 3000, 3500)?

You'd think it'd be the chip/memory frequency at first sight but that's obviously not right.

it's just a way of nameing the cards from the lowest  to the highest degree, like ATi & nVidia do with thier Cards.

Here is ATi's example by doing so:

ATI Radeon 9200 SE
ATI Radeon 9200
ATI Radeon 9200 Pro
ATI Radeon 9200 Pro 256

ATI Radeon 9600 SE
ATI Radeon 9600
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256
ATI Radeon 9600 XT

ATI Radeon 9800 SE
ATI Radeon 9800
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256
ATI Radeon 9800 XT

Ati does it with extra letters in each different class after the fraises 9200, 9600 & 9800.

nVidia does it alot diferently like so:

GeForce4 MX-420
GeForce4 MX-440
GeForce4 MX-460
GeForce4 Ti-4200
GeForce4 Ti-4400
GeForce4 Ti-4600

With the GeForce4 line nVidia uses Letters combined with numbers after the fraise GeForce4.

So 3dfx uses a numeric friase after the fraise Voodoo3 to name it's lowest to it's higest degree and that's about it.

Forgot about that one, the PCB looks the same as a 3000 PCI but isn't (extra regulators and other pieces)

The regular 3500 is faster then the Ventana, but the Ventana is built for a different market (mil-sims)

I'm also fairly sure the Q3D card had active cooling but it is missing. A 3000 heatsink will not fit due to a fan header being in the way!

Yeah that would be very nice to see FalconFly, but the work by sorting all of our cards out  Undecided That' s gonna be haywire.

Oh for now we go to the 2000 units! At least that's our new goal Smiley

Need to get a few more collectors on board then, I have been trading quality for quantity.

I don't expect my collection to get much larger as I sell off some duplicates and a few of the loose cards but they will be replaced with rarer items so it should all be a wash.

I really wish to buy this but can't justify the cost and shipping, storage right now is a problem too.

Even $1000 USD would be tough at the moment, just don't have the coin.

hmm how about the garage or the shed, I suppose you'll have some room there Smiley Just creat'n some idea's Smiley

Anyway I go for quallity also like everyone else does, so I don't see your point on that, it came a little wierd across the road.
but no offence man, you're do'n fine Smiley but if we compare 1051 cards found worldwide, still isn't much compared to the amount that 3dfx produced, I suoppose that this 3dfx collecting is quite rare afterall Smiley
