Pentium2 cache change ?

Just come to the idea to increase the cache memory on a P2/P3 CPU.
I refer to the Level 2 cache, witch is normaly 512Kb.

It's something like this possible ?
Was already done ?
What performance gain will this dring ?

Reason is that i will get a dual P2/P3 server board..

the slot2 xeno have his cache on a extra die like the PentiumPro

maybe you can solder 4 chips from 2 PIII to one PII
but 500 with 512kb cache will be fast than a 350MHz CPU with 1024kb if its supportet and run

i know that the slot athlon have different cache divisor
