I'm afraid it's only 4+2MB
Obsidian 50-2200 4MB + Amethist module 2MB = Obsidian 50-2220 6MB

Well you could always sell some items that might be worth selling and keep the ultra rare
but then again some things are indeed hard to decide I know how that feels like hehe been there also

I think I would hardly sell any of my cards, to me even having 2 different revs. of the diamond V1 means a lot, and giving away 10 "cheap" cards for one proto is not what I have in mind, I collect 3Dfx hardware for what it has been in the ordinary PC user's life, a complete revolution in the PC vision, and belive me when I say that all the ubercommon production cards have brought the real thing in our houses.
Prototypes are mostly for us collectors a way to reach further in the company's work and setting higher goals, hi-end hardware was more a revolution in the industry, but this is not the thing I aim for as a collector.
Shortly: for now I go for the new era in the average joe's life.
Someday I'll most likely aim higher (probably starting with a V6K, that is to me the legend of all 3Dfx, the card we were drooling on it's pics in magazines while we were in high school
)

Voodoo 3 2000 PCI with DVI support.
Board was obtained from a friend who indicated that this board was used for development of the DVI setup.

The big 3DFX chip to the left top is LCD scaling chip.
V3 could not scale up to provide digital drive to fixed resolution digital monitor.
If you had monitor that could only support 1024 by 768, you could not drive basic VGA modes onto the screen without it.

ah okay thanx for the info Hank 8) maybe on eof the many reasons that the Voodoo3 production model never had DVI adapter just because more components were needed thus it would cost 3dfx more to produce or wasn't that the cause?

It was the cost.
The chip was sub contracted to external company, and scaling chip was a disaster.
Also DFPs were comming out with scaling built in, so it was not necessary to support scaling at that time.
3 strikes and the chip was out.

I wish I could see the connector. Looks smaller than the one on my ATI 9800 AIW. Non-standard or was there a standard back then?
