List of PC's

In regards to names I'm very pragmatic (with one exception), easy to remember based on hardware goes a long way when you have as many as I do Wink

The "daily work box" Blackhole II

Dual boot (Win98/win2000pro) MSI KT3 Ultra II-R (onboard Promise controller) with dual Seagate 7200 rpm 160 gig drives in RAID mirroring, GF3-Ti200, 1 gig of ram, AMD 2000+, 3Com 10/100 NIC, Soudblaster Live 5.1, Sony DVD-RW & Toshiba DVD drives. Monitor is an Intergraph 21 CRT.

The "new game box" Gigabyte 1

Win2000 with Gigabyte 848 motherboard, 1 gig of Kingston ram, 2.8c P4, X850 256MB, AGP ATI, Soundblaster Live 5.1, 40 gig SATA WD Raptor HD, 250gig Seagate IDE ATA-100, NEC DVD-RW & CD-RW with 19" Viewsonic widescreen LCD.

The "at work terminal" Graphite II

The "old work box" still used for testing and DVD playback while on the treadmill.

Win98Se, BX6 with 600mhz Celeron, 256MB, SB LIve 5.1, Fujitsu 6 gig HD, V5-5500, Sony DVD and 15" Dell LCD

The "old backup PC" 3dfx 1, used for testing 3dfx boards and data backup till secondary IBM drive crashed. Now used for accessing Chrysler database and other functions.

Unknown motherboard with dual boot Win95/Win98SE, P2-350, 195 mhz V3-2000, 128 MB of ram, unknown HD, dual CD-Roms and zip drive.

Laptop (266 laptop) Used for when on the go and EPROM burning while at dyno.

Hitachi business unit with Intel P1-MMX 266, cdrom, 2 removable HDs (win98 and win NT) intergrated 3Com NIC and modem.

The "garage unit"

S3/VIA based ASUS motherboard with 256 MB ram, 1.0 ghz Thunderbird, 40 gig HD, WinXP and 14" LCD. No CDROM, connected to network with intergrated NIC so I can access net while out in the garage, a free PC from work.

The "garage unit II"

Currently residing in attic till needed, another free unit from work with good XP pro licence...ASUS Nforce chipset with everything, AMD 2000+, 40 gig Maxtor.

Here goes:

Tribelserver:

MSI 694D Pro AR

2 x 160Gb SATA @ raid 0

Testrig:

Some via based socket 370 board
Celeron 1.3Ghz
2 x 128MB PC133

Running windows98SE with unofficial SP
this is used to test all my voodoo cards.

I have backups of the basic install of windows98SE with SP and all chipset drivers installed, except ofcourse of the voodoo cards and other videocards.

I don't have the room to have 10 pc's running for tests, so this is the best solution for me.

Works just fine, reloading an image with ghost is fast enough, everyone knows that.
