Thank you.
I actually have a few dead V5's laying around.. So I drilled a hole in one of the backplates.
I might make another one, or maybe make this one better...

Well, I got most of the parts in, still waiting on a few however. Regardless I think this home will be more than adequate for the goddess.
Specifications:
Chieftec Dragon Case
Epox EP-8K3A+ Rev. 1.2 [with latest bios]
AMD 3200+ 333FSB @ 2332MHZ [AXDA3200DKV4D]
3x512 Kingston Hyper-X PC3200 @ PC2700 [2-3-2-6]
3dfx Voodoo5 6000 AGP - Rev.A 3700 [PCI Rework and Internal Power]
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer
Yeah yeah, I know she's a bit dusty.. but that means i have been using her!

I have been
drooling
up until the moment I spotted a crooked TT Vulcano 11. Bah. If you are assembling SUCH a machine, then please - by all means get a Zalman or something stylish. Maybe a thermalright SLK 600 with some shiny 12' cm led-lit silent fan...
Man... V5 6k... thats something that deserves only the best. Gratz man

I think the Volcano suits it well. My V5 powered retro machine has a Volcano 6 cooler, because that's the same generation hardware, more or less. A newer cooler would not suit it because it is not from the same era. (imho)

Maybe it
is
a bit nitpicky, but a system like this would deserve the best, so I have to agree, those thermaltakes were more show then go, even though it isn't a disastrous cooler, a Thermalright SP-97, or SLK-947U is infinitely better. Any Thermalright based on their design would be roughly the same generation hardware. (Motherboard and CPU that is, not V56K)
Overall it looks great though, one of the nicest cases in my opinion. The old, old Alienware cases were like that.

Thanks for the comments guys. I do respect your opinions, but I am going to have to disagree. When it all boils down, I am not overclocking this machine, and this HSF works flawlessly for what it does. Keeping it at ~2,000 RPMs or less keeps the CPU at a more than adequate temperature and I barely hear it. (min/max speed is 1,300/4,800) It looks nice (orange is very simlar with that of the 3dfx logo), it also came with a expansion slot plate with the knob for fan speed adjustment. Long story short, 5 degree's isnt going to make a difference in performance.
/edit:
I mounted the spare expansion slot plate that from where the fan control went to the motherboard as a support the the heavy V6K. Now even when the case is upright the card does not sag.
Also, black round floppy and IDE cables are on their way, the green ones are just temporary.

Nevertheless a killer retro 3Dfx machine
!!
I'm still waiting for my Aureal Vortex SQ2500 sound card I got on ebay last week to complete my retro V5 machine:
Msi KT3 Ultra-ARU
AthlonXP 2600 FSB333
2x 256DDR 333 PC2700
V5 64MB AGP
Aureal Vortex A3D SQ2500 sound
400GB Seagate IDE drive
Volcano 6 cooler
Hercules Prophetview 720 15inch LCD
All built in a Raidmax Smilodon case. I still have some Chieftec/Antec cases though. Could be that I switch to one of those just for the authenticity of the whole...
