- Backup glide3x.dll and copy the new file to the following directory:

Windows 95/98BlacK_Out : \Windows\System
Windows NT4/2000 : \Winnt\System32
Windows XP : \Windows\System32

Note

- glide3x.lib: MSC import library.
- libglide3x.a: MinGW import library.
- kit extension/size: zip/158kb

I got a bit of a Performance hit when I ran it through GLExcess (latest version) at both 16 and 32bit color screnn set at 1024x768. Undecided

So is he going for quality factor I take it? I couldn't tell by the screen shots what the difference was either if he is.

As far as we know, newer versions of glide (vooodoo5 glide as oposed to voodoo3), bring interesting differences in GLExcess, due to the nature of the tests.

Generally, the overall quality and speed was pushed a bit more, but the results were not so clear in other apps or games, therefore GlExcess might not be the best tool to judge quality/performance. We haven't tested this new version of glide, but it might be the same.

Try unreal Tournament, Quake3, NFS5. These are the games that push the limits in glide, and were you can say clearly: here is faster, here is better...
