I too! There are other IMPORTANT COLLECTORS on Italy, Germany and here on Spain.

Regards,
Oscar

you're forgetting a few countries like Germany, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and France Wink anyway The European Union is do'n very well indeed, the most interesting card from www.yjfy.com ; was that Voodoo3 2000 AGP with SGRAM prototype, it's like my Compaq USA V31K card, but then it is cooled by a V32K cool blok.

he called it a Velocity 200, but I see it as a V32K AGP with SGRAM, if you look carefully on the bios chip it says V3 2000 Wink

...

here a link: http://www.yjfy.com/images/oldhard/video/Velocity200.jpg to a sharper and larger image to that wierd Voodoo3 2000 proto,
but the problem is, that his site so slow, you can't hardly get in.

So I have a new theorie, it sounds like This:

evryone that owns a Velocity 200 , I aleays read V3 1000 on the Bios chip, and on this wierd one I read V3 2000 on it's bios chip, I think that the Velocity 200 is a mere hoax, i haven't seen no proof of one yet.

It is always a V3 1000 or a V3 2000 like the one from China.  on the Velocity 100 card it doesn't read V3 1000 on it's bios chip it reads this:

2.15.06

and that's it.

So if the Velocity 200 exsists, where can I see the proof of one?

Uhm, Obi Wan;

There are NO Voodoo 3 AGP cards with SGRAM!
Only the PCI versions have SGRAM.

Velocity = always AGP SGRAM Smiley

As to your possible next question of why the sticker on the bios would say V3 2000:

Velocity 100: 16MB AGP SGRAM 1TMU
Voodoo3 2K:  16MB AGP SDRAM 2TMU

Not much difference there and the only thing needed for the difference in TMU's is a driver adjustment.

Incorrect, I own four, five if you include a Velocity 100.

BTW- A Velocity is a Voodoo 3 with one TMU disabled, a rose by any other name is still a rose.

I think 3dfx planned on releasing a Velocity 200 but either they figured out it was unwanted in the oem market where even 2/4 MB cards were still common or the price point was just too low to make a profit.

If I remember correct 3dfx was selling V3's in record numbers but that was due to the firesale prices with small profit margins.

Tell me, at what speed do those cards run? 143MHz?
If so, I ask you this; why are there no 166MHz AGP SGRAM cards? Would make sense that if there was a V3 2000 SGRAM AGP card, there would also be a V3 3000 SGRAM AGP card.

What does that have to do in regards to if it is a V3 or not?

...

I own one, and have seen others. Yes the card pictured above is clocked at 3000 speeds with a small heatsink! I was told that the sample cards use a thicker pcb which pulls heat away from the graphics chip. Production cards use a big heatsink and thinner pcb since metal is cheaper then pcb layers!

Why they were not sold in large numbers? Cost I would imagine, the SDRAM design was proven and compact. The SGRAM design uses more PCB which adds to the cost.

Actually I have seen 183 mhz AGP SGRAM Voodoo 3's as well, now if only I can lay hands on one =)

...

3dfx could have sold a 16MB SGRAM AGP card with ease since the PCB already was designed and used on Compaq 125 mhz V3.

Anyways I was aiming at this one, sorry for the big pic, look carefully at it's Bios chip indication Wink and you'll see it's a V3 2000 wierd huh and this one is Not For Resale too, must be an early Voodoo3 2000 AGP SGRAM Prototype.:

...

So should I see my Compaq V31K as a Vel200 or not ?

The Velocity 100/200 were to a degree marketed as retail items with some OEM sales perhaps, the Compaq and Gateway V3-1000 were OEM sales only.

I suppose:
Velocity 100= 8M SGRAM VOODOO3
Velocity 200=16M SGRAM VOODOO3
VOODOO3 1000=Velocity 100, Velocity 200

Uhm, at the risk of being proven wrong again;

the only V3 1000 cards are those of Compaq and Gateway which run at 125MHz.

Velocity's run at 143MHz.

Grin

Velocity 100- 143 mhz, 1 TMU, 8 MB

V3-1000 Gateway- 143 mhz, 1 TMU, 8 MB

V3-1000 Compaq- 125 mhz, 2 TMU, 16 MB

The Gateway V3-1000 and Velocity 100 are identical cards except for the bios decal and name on boot up.

The Compaq V3-1000 is unique.
