Title: FastVoodoo and Win2K Dual PII Post by paulpsomiadis on 13.07.03 at 17:23:48
I have a Gigabyte GA-6BXD Dual PII board with a Kyro 2 in it. :D
I recently managed to MOD an old AT case to fit the ATX board in it (tight squeeze, but it works). ;) Since I can't use my twin V2's with my MAIN rig, which has my Radeon 9700 Pro in (due to the 'bizarre' ATI Compatibility issue?) I'd like to ask the following... Will the latest FastVoodoo drivers allow V2 SLI on a Win2K Dual PII machine? ??? Hope someone knows something about this! :P Chill! L8R Dudes! 8) |

Hmm...well I'm using the FastVoodoo 2.5 drivers with my V2 SLI in the DUAL PII 333MHz with WIN2K...
Problem is that I can't tell if they are running in SLI or not? ??? Normally in 9x O.S's you can tell by going to: - Display Properties -> Advanced -> 3DFX v2 1000 -> System info and it will say "SLI Detected"... ::) But since these are modded drivers, it doesn't detect the Voodoo 2's properly and I can't tell if they're running in SLI or not? ??? So...does anyone know of any Voodoo 2 demos / test programs that ONLY run in SLI mode? :P Anyhting would be appreciated...cheers dudes! ;) |

Hm, try to run in 1024x768.
Only the SLI Combo can do 3D (with Z-Buffer) in this resolution :) |

in order to test SLI, I used to launch glquake in 1024x768 (with a shortcut). instant loading (and great graphics BTW :D )

Someone please hit me with a wet haddock "Monty Python" stylee! :P
I feel like an idiot not to remember this one! :o I should know by now that V2-SLI = 1024x768... ::) I'll let y'all know how the tests go... ;) Oh, and I'll send ya' some pics of my 'leet Dual PII 333 system when my second CPU arrives! ;D (would you mind posting them Falcon?) ??? (Hmm...a system that equals 666...that's some Voodoo magic for ya'! Heheheheh!) :D L8R DUDES! 8) |

Hmm...well I've had my Dual PII 333MHz (that's 666!!!) system up and running for a week or so now and it's pretty d@mn good! ;D
Only problem is that I've got no film for my camera! :'( So, to keep everyone up to speed, here are some specs... ;) == Stuff already in the case == :D - Dual PII 333MHz CPU's - Gigabyte GA-6BXD Mainboard - Kyro 2 64MB Main GFX (with custom heatsink) - Dual Voodoo 2 SLI sub GFX (with custom heatsinks and fan) - 192MB SIMM RAM - 10GB Seagate HDD - Generic 40X CDROM - Creative AWE64 - Generic Mouse and Keyboard - Win2K SP4 == STUFF I'D LIKE TO GET == :P - DVDROM drive (to replace the CDROM) - ATA133 card (the mainboard is only ATA33) I'll get round to posting the pics and a FULL expo on how the case MOD was done when I get some film and get round to taking the pictures...then it's on to the BENCHMARKS! ;D CHILL! 8) |

Well, even though the specs have changed somewhat...I FINALLY got the film developed with pictures of my dual V2 / dual P2 server! ;D
The CRAPPY 40X Generic CD-ROM drive has been replaed with a 'modified' laptop 24X drive (this reads CD's MUCH better than the other one did!) :D Also, I added another spare 10GB HDD... ;) I will send a ZIP file to Falcon if he is willing to host the images for a while! :-/ There are also some images in there of other 'stuff' I own...I'll give you more details when I email the file to you Falcon! ;) (And YES it DID take me bloody AGES to find this thread again!) ::) CHILL! 8) |

Hm, if you already sent an Email to me, it might be stuck among the ~2000 EMails locked in the Spam Filter :-/
(I was absent for 2 weeks with almost no Internet Access :P ) I'll check the EMails to find anything you might have sent, but the Spam Filter killed everything beyond the age of 7 days I'm afraid :-/ Anyway, I'll upload any Images you sent/send/will send of course ;) |

Hello Falcon! :D
Well, I 'WAS' going to email you the images, but Patience sent me a PM saying that she would host them and put them up on the new thread HERE: - http://www.falconfly-central.de/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=offtopic;action=display;num=1077074980 However...I sent them a few days back and there not up yet? ??? Maybe you could give her a 'push' toward uploading them... ;) Whatever! ::) |
