Black and White BIOS Screen?
To be honest I havent payed full attention to the BIOS screen since I got my 2600A2 card functioning. From what I noticed today, the BIOS screen is intermittently either color like it should be, or black and white (monochrome). (I would say its B/W 90% of the time) The card works with color everywhere else, such as the Windows loading screen and Windows itself. My other V6K's obivously don't do this, so I am curious if anyone has heard of this behavior before with any other cards? I am not worried about it as the card still outperforms my 3700A's and runs like a dream.
Ideas?
Color: note the Award Bios ribbon color

Where the hell do u guys get all this 'impossible' (eBay but they rarely ever show up) to find hardware!!!!!! I've seena broke V5 6K go for $800. it stated at 99 cents
That cards got some SICK fans on it.
Oh BTW where'd u get the case made it looks sick i might need one for my V2 Rig xD
P.S About the B&W problem, it may be the cable, as i would sometimes get this with my GF2MX (Everything would be black and white, even windows)

My V5-6K 2600A2 behaves exactly the same, so it seems to be related to that revision of the card.

Thank you for the reply! I figured it might be a common trait with the 2600A2's as I can't think of any hardware/firmware defect that would cause such an occurance. (maybe also other early revisions?) It makes me feel better knowing that other 2600A2's (if not all) also behave like this. A fun little quirk of this rare revision.
On a side note I just recieved my 5x spare HiNT HB1-SE66 chips.
If I am going to have 3x (or more) V6k's for the rest of my life I better be prepared for anything. (I also have 4x spare Epox 8K3A+ boards as that is the only board I will ever use, along with a few spare AXDA3200DKV4D cpus, the fastest cpu for that board)

You guys made me curious as I did not remember my 2600A2 showing a black & white image at boot-up. I have tried it now on a Tyan MPX and a Gigabyte GA-60XT and in both cases I have color at boot-up and in the BIOS screen. So might be something different with my card physically with the reworks it has as the vga BIOS version is the same 1.11
Cheers,

It is not like my card boots every time in black/white, lets say in 9 of 10 cases it boots up with full colors.

Well still I have full colors in more than 30 boot-ups with my card even after stessing the card in some glide games. None the less I'm happy with it as it is

I did it again
A virgin V6K (unmodified,no reworks, completely and fully stable/functional 3700A) The card even comes with extra capacitors C15/C17. (very uncommon) It is a pretty interesting card to use, mainly because it does not have the internal power hookups, so I use the Voodoo Volts! It also has 1.18 bios which is unlike many V6K's. (still running @ 166mhz, but with more aggressive memory timings)
Things just seem to work out sometimes..
The card above just happened to come with a late voodoo volts backplate, so naturally I took that off and put it on my 2600A2.
Note: the V6K that sparked this topic was sold however, mainly because I already had a 3700A w/ the PCI rework, internal power and didn't feel the need to have two of the same exact thing) So I sold that and put the money towards this beauty.

The V6K arrived today from Edmund's eBay auction.
First thing I did was stick it in my V6K rig and fire it up... half a decade later and SHE'S ALIVE!!! Tested and stable at 2x/4x/8x AA levels. [still looping UT99 intro @ 4x AA going on for about 30 minutes]
Edmund also provided a support bracket/handle that has been with the card nearly it's entire life. That teamed up with a backplate from a V5 5500 AGP, this thing is now ready to be enjoyed even more.
Bonus shot. Perfectly alligned aavid fans.
This card is now for sale, it is a 3700A card with the internal power hookup and PCI rework. Perfect card in perfect working order in all anti-aliasing levels. If you are intereseted drop me a line at v6ksale@gmail.com. Make me an offer. (I am expecting $3,000+ as that is the going rate these days)

Not yet... I sold a different card a few months ago. (you must be thinking of that one)
This is the card for sale. (I have since added my own toe-tag and cable management "zip wrap")
