Very rare. Though I wish I had the money, I would have bought it for $300...

Yes I would have to- The point is it was at a buy it now for $600 and suddenly sold for $300 just hours after it was posted. I suspect a deal was made.

I looked close at the pics, it was a revision 2 2600 board.

Such a shame that a lovely piece of kit such as this is now probably broken. :'(

Does anyone have a rough guess as to how many are suspected to be still active?

Oh, and regarding the eBay final bid payment, maybe the seller struck a deal with the buyer and he reduced the cost just before the buyer bought it.

But I thought you could not reduce 'Buy It Now' prices once set? I have not tried this kind of auction yet.

Not always...but there is a good chance that if you could get the original BIOS you could reflash it.  I would have bought that thing, too, given the chance, but I just found out  :(

I'm sorry, I don't get why you say that. Perhaps it can be restored to 2D abilities, but this is an early revision card, there's a chance tha 3D won't work by design  ::)

I must respectfully decline your reguest, Your Highness  >:(  If you really have a problem with it, block the server in your firewall or in IE.

I would have too, hence why I'm bent.

i can understand that (bent), when i want something off ebay i sometimes make them an offer instead of bidding, sometimes that works :)

lol, I just noticed this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemRevisionDetails&item=4122793667

I never knew you could simply edit the Buy-It-Now price, that's the easy way to end it early, I guess.
