Very cool! Early box art and product? I know when the V3 was first announced the low end was suppose to be a 125 mhz part, which did show up in some Compaq computers with no heatsinks!

p.s. Anyone need a Wicked3d Banshee? Looks like I ended up with two of them and don't need the loose card. Always looking to trade for something I don't have yet Wink

My Ensonic and Wicked Banshee cards both came in today, the Wicked card has a sweet box with disc and original shrinkwrap with pricetag.

I'll let you know what Kay states, I would imagine they wish to get rid of them but in my eyes the fact that they are "loose" with no docs, discs or cables devalues them quite a bit.

I'd just assume wait for one on Ebay.

Had to post what just showed up in the mail-

Also on display is my other Canopus card a Pure3d II LX on the right, they work together sweet in SLI mode!

They do radiate some heat though, 110F running a demo loop! I threw a fan on the pair of them just to be safe, 86F is much better.

Sometimes I think I paid to much ($25) but then again how often to do you find a mint boxed Canopus Pure3d II card with everything? Spent my cash worse ways Wink

It is a Display Card only, and you can actually see that the PCB isn't remotely finished.

As far as I know, at that time 3dfx simply didn't have a V5-6000 design that was able to work at all yet, hence they came up with a 'quick & dirty' "Demo-Design", so they at least had something to show off.

The 2x2 design proved to be impossible to realize later.

The back of the Card is actually really smooth and clean, with almost nothing on it on one side.
