Hello all,
Sorry I misunderstanded you all! I am gratefully sorry for not accepting my problem. I did a test you see..
I plugged my voodoo 3 2000 PCI into an Athlon 1700+ (1.1Ghz) system and the voodoo 3 outperformed the GeForce FX 5500 AGP which was in there for Midtown Madness!! I could feel it.
I also found out something about the computer specifications of which i though would be alot older (something like my specs above) but was actually a:
AMD Duron - Inconclusive speed - Maybe 700Mhz
ECS K7S5A Mainboard- I thought this was too mdoern when i read it - As the main PC at the time was hardly anything more (ECS K7VZA).
This brings me to the conclusion that the PC was infact a Socket A PC and not what I thought as a Socket 7.
This explains alot and I am gratefully sorry. I do not know if the games had problems back then as my dad does not remember things like that. But i know it had an ATI Xpert 2000 Pro 16MB card which would have had V-Sych enabled which would have explained why the PC games didnt run too fast..
Now, I am understanding it all, and if i could put my Duron 1.3Ghz into the PC i could do well off with the games i wish to play above- But the Voodoo driver does not seem to have V-Sync option, and all software like aTuner etc do not support 3DFX.
Anyone got suggestions for V-Sync??? - Then my dream would be complete
Currently the setup is:
Windows 98SE
DirectX 8.1
OpenGL 1.1
AMD Duron 1350Mhz
Soltek SL-75KAV/-X Motherboard
768MB of SDRAM-For internet smoothness
Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
3Com 3c905-TX (PCI)
Creative Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold (ISA)
