Obsidian 200SB Glide issue
04.07.11 at 18:36:09

I have 2 Obsidian 200SB cards and for both of them I get a message just as the windows 98SE desktop appears, the message is , "_GlideInitEnvironment: glide2x.dll expected Voodoo, none detected" The drivers installed fine for the card and it shows 2 obsidian 3D cards show up in the device manager with no errors, does anyone know what the problem could be, also which file do I have to rename to opengl32.dll and drop into the quake 3 folder?

Try using stock Voodoo2 drivers, thats what I use for all my Q3D Voodoo2 based cards and have never had an issue. (200 Sbi, X-24, etc)   Cool

HI

Thanks for that it works a treat now, just ran Q3 at 60fps with the 200SBi on the voodoo 2 drivers, never would have thought of that.

PS. the double Quantum3D AAlchemy card I bought from you last year works great also, I made a power supply for it.

Usually you get a Glide error if you trying to install different drivers for your Voodoo card. Reinstalling Windows always help.
What manual did you use to make PSU for Aalchemy?

I did not have a manual, I basically knew the voltages and current needed for the double card to work and constructed a power supply from 2 different power supplies, and it powers 2 cards with a total of 16 VSA100 chips, the total load when fully running is around 45Amp on the 2.7Volt line as it is the 512MB ram cards that I have (memory chips on both sides of the boards)
