Rage Fury Maxx

Hey guys,

I came across a Rage Fury Maxx, I will have it in a few days, and will test it, it should work just fine.

What are these cards worth nowadays?? Seeing as 3DFX cards seem to be a lot more expensive these days, is this the same for Rage Fury Maxx and other more exotic cards??

Thanks for any info.

Cheers

They don't pop up that much. I think I bought mine for £22, but I've seen them go for cheaper.

3dfx is very wanted, that's why there are generally higher pricetags involved, even though most cards sold aren't that rare.

The fact is, 3dfx will work on every OS, even on Vista/7, whereas Fury Maxx will work correctly only in windows 9x. If the rumors hold true, the drivers for win98 weren't mint either, so the card is better off in a glass rather then computer case.  Sad

Thanks for the info, but even so, I can put it in my old rig, which runs win98SE with unofficial SP, so should be good to go anyway.

Rig is posted in my signature, so should be fun to play with a bit.
Will the Fury Maxx be faster then a geforce2 32MB??

Not a chance. Not even faster then the first, original geforce SDR:

Epic card - but not really usable Sad

edit: but I would still prefer it to geforce, for the old times' sake; after all - you dont build retro rig for playing 'fast' but for playing 'enjoyable', dont you? Wink
