Over the weekend I also scored a new Maxigamer V2 with heatsink and 110 mhz ram to SLI with my other.

ok i couldnt sleep so here goes my list, its nothing like your great list but heres what i got.

first off everything i got is retail boxed almost all with games driver ect. except for my v4500L card which came with nothing and my promo boxed v3

well not many i know, im really trying for just 3dfx cards right now, v3 1000's and 3500 plus i really need the v5000 that patience has plus of course the v6000, hmm and also the v5500 mac

Well I got in touch with DataPath.
I spoke to a guy called Wolfgang (naturally Wink

) in Germany.
He gave me a quote which was pushing the limit, but didn't answer my question about whether the cards come retail boxed with driver CD's, manuals and cables.

I then got an e-mail from Kay @ the UK DataPath branch, confirming if I want to pay be Credit Card for this item!?! Shocked

A little direct, don't you think.
I asked her the same question and she confirmed that the card is OEM and standalone (no box, cables, CD's, manuals, paperwork, ZIP!)

She quoted me £78! Shocked

(Do the math in your own currency, you will be shocked) for the Quantum 50-4220.

So I told her to keep the card (to collect dust in some warehouse for 10 - 15 years before it's binned!)

The point is, they have had no interest in these items for a long while, you can tell by their eagerness to get me to buy it!
They charge such a high price that no-one will pay, only for the item to rot on some warehouse shelf until it gets scrapped!
Why not just reduce it at an affordable rate, so they can make a quick sale on them and reduce thier stock, rather than let their back-stock get congested! Angry

Hmm...

I think they got catched on the 'wrong foot' when all of a sudden they received dozens of Requests for their remaining Quantum3D stock (all selling for an initial 75 Euro/piece, regardless of model)

Now that they've realized what they're selling (and their stocks reduced to a small remaining amount of Cards), they're playing the typical market's Game of demand vs. offer.

Although arguably, they sure kept those Cards mainly because they once intended to sell them for alot more than what they charge now.

Amusing- I had been in contact with Wolfgang and he ended up getting me in contact with Kay. She quoted me a price that was much higher then Wolfgangs.

I fired back Wolfgang's price was better and it's been brought to my attention that the cards come with nothing. I stated they need to drop the price a bit, if I wanted a loose card with nothing I could purchase one from ebay for a fraction of the cost.

I'll let you know what her reply is.

Pretty impressive collection Gary!
I only have about half of those there!
I like the Velocity 100, those are hard to come by.

Yes, if you could let me know what they say to you about a possible reduction in the price, that would be great!

All Kay told me was that they bought them in bulk from Quantum and have a large amount of them to sell.
Because they came in bulk, the cards are standalone.

Let me know how you get on.
