Wondering if NFS Underground is like NFS HP2. If so, then with the above trend, and the one with FIFA 2003->FIFA 2004 (a big failure in graphics terms), then we can expect more bad games, with heftier prices...

maybe because you've overclocked your system, both the cpu and voodoo5...i also overclocked my machine and get a bluescreen in win2000+sp4...at least, i don't think it's a win2000 specific problem, so the game might not work well with overclocked non-h t&l hardware

If NFS HP2 worked just barely and marginally on Voodoo cards, what surprise would it be if NFS Underground would not run at all? At least for the V3's?

yeah, right. saw nfs hp2 on voodoo3 and there were some big hints as this card doesn't has all the vertex shaders the voodoo5 has implemented..
but it runs fine on a voodoo5 accept these pixel shader effects aren't all done by software t&l. no matter, it looks & runs fine with full effects and 2 sample fsaa, as nfs underground should..so i see the cause it evently doesn't run on my machine in overclocking.
