Wicked3D Voodoo2 already had Driver T&L (?!)
21.04.03 at 21:00:55

I was browsing and following some interesting Links that turned up, and found some interesting Info's about the MetaByte Wicked3D Voodoo2 :

http://www.mindflux.com.au/products/wicked3d/tnl.html

They claimed a 40% performance gain, caused by their implementation of
Transform & Lighting
Shocked

Quite amazing company, long before anyone even heard of today's "T&L", they got something like it into their Direct3D Driver to squeeze out a significant performance gain....

Even more interesting, that their current Driver at the time of the interview reportedly also worked on any other "standard" Voodoo2.

they sound good have to give them a try but

`Can the your drivers/TNL Engine be used on your competitors' Voodoo2 products?

Currently, our drivers will install on our competitors’ board. However, our TNL Engine is disabled if it doesn’t detect a Metabyte Wicked3D featuring Voodoo2 board '

even the extra rez will be worth it on a single card , might have athlon probs with driver aswell . have to test them anyway

That guy (Aosnovich) is the one who coded the mismatched SLI driver components.  Probably had quite a hand in WickedGL too.

Let's all ignore this thread and let it die.  Because I'm waiting for two Wicked3D Voodoo2 cards to come up on eBay and I don't want any competition.  Grin

"Are there any similar driver for v3?"

Couldn't that T&L feature for Athlon's and Pentium III' that i've found in some third party Voodoo³ drivers be similar?

Regards,
Andreas
