Hm, there are several reasons why this probably won't succeed :
- Glide API hasn't received any updates for a very long time, while OpenGL has reached V1.3 (V2.0 is coming), and Direct3D core has reached V8.1b, with DirectX9 coming as well.
- Creating/Bugfixing an Engine for Glide issues is close to impossible, because there is nobody left to talk to...
So that leaves this API unsupported, and old. Also the Userbase is shrinking every day, so doing anything like this would eat up Epic's manpower for trying to 'fix a dead horse'
The old Glide Engine won't handle the extreme Triangle counts imposed by the new Engine. It would slow things down to a crawl
(the old Engine is known to have serious Problems with high Triangle counts, very inefficient at that)

I'm sorry, but as of now, I can't think of any reason for your Graphical glitches in Quake 2...
I know the latest Versions were quite 3dNow!-Enhanced, maybe you're facing an incompatibility with the Athlon 3dNow!...
All I could say is try different MiniGL's, and also try non-3Dnow! rendering Modes (if available). Last resort, default OpenGL should work flawless as well.
