Problem with Doom3 is it's very uneven, the pacing is awful and the use of sound as a tool to build tension is ignored for the most part.

System Shock 2 uses sound to scare the hell out of you to great effect, it not what you can see that scares you but what you hear that has the greatest impact.

I absolutely agree with gdonovan, System Shock 2 in my opinion is one of the finest and scariest pc games ever developed  8)

The tension, atmosphere & mood the game creates is simply superb and has'nt been surpassed by any game that I have played since its release.

I remember my first time playing it, I could only play for 20-30 minute sessions and would have to stop for a while to regroup, sensory overload I guess 

9.5 out of 10 (Gaming at its very best) 

anyways I like Doom3 very much still it's mission packed scored 98% here in the Netherlands, just alot of action when playing in nightmare mode, But Prey is gonna be alot better. it's too bad that Prey had to be cancled so many times I always looked forewards to it.

Daikatana was a failure, a pitty on that it's graphics were okay though. System Shock1 was like Descent a real breakthrough ion new gameplay and graphics technnology the sound in both games were also very stunning.

I wonder what happened to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Tjernobyl?
