Hercules Thriller 3D, anything special??
05.06.11 at 14:26:47

Hey guys,

my neighbor gave me his old computer and it has the abovementioned card in it.
It has vga + a lotta extra connectors for video, glasses etc.

Is there anything special about this card?? Or just a lot in the bunch so to speak??

Well, it's certainly no 3dfx-card but has a Rendition V2200 soldered on. Aside from that I don't know if the card is special.

It is a nice item to have if you collect other hardware apart from 3dfx. Rendition Verite V2200 was the only card that could match Voodoo 1 those days. I would not use it as primary 2D card on a retro system because of its sub-par VGA performance in DOS, but it was fast enough in SVGA and 3D. Years ago I got an 8 Mb PCI Hercules Thriller 3D from paulpsomiadis in Falconfly's marketplace. If you want to know anything else about that card, read this excellent thread by swaaye in VOGONS:
