The AAVID fan-cooler wires pinout
17.07.05 at 13:23:19

I'm thincking of replacing the AAVID stock cooler of my Voodoo 4 4500 PCI (gift from Rolo01 - thanks again!  Wink ) with a better one (well I won't do it right now, as I'm totaly out off money, but hopefully someday sooner I might buy one Titan CUV1AB video card copper cooler). I'll want to use the connector on the card to power-up that new fan, but I don't know it's pinout and I realy, realy don't want to mess-up things. The AAVID cooler has 3 wires: red, blue and black, but I don't have a multimetter to measure each one so if anyone off you knows the pinout by colours (or by order in the card's fan connector), please share it with me.
Thank you!  Tongue

As I see on my cards/fans:

(1,2,3 numbers are written besides the fan connector on the board)

1 | blue wire | sensor ?
2 | black wire | ground (0 V)
3 | red wire | vcc+ (+5 V)

Blue wire is for sensor ... how should I monitor then the fan speed?
And red is for 5V only, not the usual 12V ... then I cannot power-up there a regular VGA fan since it needs 12V ... Oh well, it could have been a nice one ...

You can't monitor the fanspeed since the Voodoo 4 4500 doesn't support it Wink
