I can't have the only system with this problem.
This struggle has been going on for months.  I have DirX8, V3 3k agp,Athlon 600, win98se.  I can't be sure when it started-but  it was happening with the 107WHQL driver. I tried the 109B7 driver & i never got a page fault message, but then none of my games would run-Need for speed, AMA Superbike or MS MotoXmad1.
In fact MsMCM under that driver said -no 3d accel detected.  I tried 107b driver & now AMA superbike & need for speed work, but MsMCM starts & quits. I haven't even tried GrndPrx3. I am now again getting the DIBeng page faults with the 107b driver. I wish i had Dx7 back, but i'm not about to go through that hassle. I'm sure there are only a couple of 3rd pty drivers left to try & i anyone has successfully fixed this problem i'd like to know what they did. 
I'm getting to the point where i am beginning to believe that a new card is the only answer.

As it all turns out, my problem was likely a hardware failure in my voodoo3 3k card.  I have replaced it with an ASUS Nvidia GF4 chiped card & every odd problem i had been having is solved/ gone away.
