I find the BIOS version strange, according to Stanto's BIOS site it's a V3 3000 BIOS ???

The Default Clock speed for this card is 125MHz.

It states that right on the Bios decal.

Thanks Thandor, I don't think the reversed "R" and "U" are significant, only that it's a V3 2K with a unique BIOS and a factory BIOS sticker to support that it is the correct BIOS for the card.

Right now it's just an extra V3 card to me and I'm in need of a card based on the V1 chipset so I posted it in the "Marketplace" for trade.

Rather than polluting your marketplace topic I'll place it here;

I'm gonna go out on a limb and make the suggestion that a Q3D Obsidian (especially one with an extra TMU card) is worth more than this 125MHz V3.

Ah, but in the marketplace you asked for a 4220 card. That's a Voodoo Graphics with TWO TMU's.

Well, it's not like I'm desperate. Not being a hardcore collector I thought it might find a better home in someone elses collection. As stated in the "Marketplace" I'm looking for a card based in the V1 chipset. I won't trade it for a 4 MB Diamond Monster but might consider a 6 MB Pure3D w/TV out or better.

Are you interested in the card?

If I was willing to spend the time, I could probably just pick up a desent V1 card on eBay (cheap). I get to the point where I have too many cards laying around in the kitchen and the the wife starts bit@hing complaining.

No, I'm collecting cards in retail status for the moment. I'd like to get my hands on good boxes before there all lost to n00bs Smiley

Won't start collecting prototypes, etc. for a long time.

Hey Gamma742

Maybe a little accident occured, that 3dfx accidently shipped a prototype instead of a production card?

If there are only 2 of these worldwide then it does sound like an accident has taken place during the packaging or production of them.

Could of been a mistake in the production plant maybe that a "type" error on the sticker and bios program error for it's stock speed as well.

Just a wild guess Smiley

bump.

I don't know if this has something to do with this, but thought about telling you this just in case:
when I tryed my v3 2000 pci 16mb in a pentium 133mhz machine that had the front side bus at 66mhz,the default speed was 125mhz. an utility I don't use anymore,"v3 tweaker" or something like that,I don't remeber, allowed to change the speed, and 125 was under the "green" color in
the speed bar,and as I said before,it started at 125 by default, everything reported that. sorry I'm not more specific,I don't remember all the details,I didn't pay attention.
oh,of course the card's regular default speed is 143mhz both here in the k6-2 500 and in a celeron 300.
at first I thought "maybe the faster processor or front side bus has something to do with it",but it's not like that because the celeron 300 has the front side bust clocked at 66mhz just like the pentium, but the speed is the same as here with the k6-2 having the fsb at 100 mhz.
anyway, just an anecdote I wanted to share.
