joda YaBB Newbies Offline Posts: 15 Gender:	to all owners of a v4/5 PCI + AMD 15.03.03 at 16:50:56 I have an a7s333 (asus) which, however, causes problems in connection with the v5 pci (bus overload). the problem is known to the company asus and is ignored, I therefore need a new board. please write of your experiences with your boards, which boards work without problems with a v4/5 PCI?

It's strange that the SiS735 get's a Bus overload by the Voodoo5 PCI, as VIA's PCI performance is usually claimed lower than the SiS735 (?) As far as I know, the A7S-333 'should' work fine.... ???

hi falconfly,

asus sagt, dass das board nicht auf voodoos getestet wurde, da die karten nicht mehr up to date seien. die busprobleme treten auch nur i.v.m. pci-voodoos auf (video und soundstottern), sonst bin ich mit dem board rundum zufrieden.

ich weiss leider nicht, ob es am sis oder an asus liegt. dasselbe problem trat nämlich auch schon beim k7s5a auf, wurde aber per bios gefixt.

da ich die v5 auf jeden fall als zweitgraka behalten will, kommt nur ein neues board in frage Undecided

Hmm...

Das laesst sich vielleich mit der PCI Latency in den Griff kriegen. Sobald der PCI Arbitrary von 32 auf 64 Clocks Latency erhoeht wird, sollten selbst problematische PCI-Devices laufen.

Das bieten leider nicht alle Motherboards im Bios an Undecided

Sicher, dass die Voodoo5 PCI sich keinen IRQ mit anderen Karten (oder OnBoard Komponenten) teilt ?

Derartige Probleme (z.B. Soundknackser) werden oft auch gerne von den Soundkarten durch zu hohe PCI-Last verursacht...
Die SoundBlaster Live-Serie uebersteigt in Sachen Bus-Last nicht selten die PCI-Spezifikationen, sodass schon so manches Board (bzw. Southbridge) in's Trudeln geraten ist.

Wie gesagt, der SiS735 gilt zusammen mit dem Ali Magik als sehr robust und unproblematisch, was man von vielen VIA's und den NForce's nicht immer behaupten kann *kopfkratz*

Evtl. helfen verschiedene Versionen des SiS Chipsatz-Treibers, oder mal mit ACPI spielen (aktivieren oder deaktivieren)...
