Go for old drivers. I tried the card under windows xp with the vers. 5.00.2195.0232.

Thanks for the information, I won't be testing the card for a long time though. It died on me this morning Sad

The diodes started squeeling and a bad smell appeared. "Damn power-bug!" I never experienced it on any
of my cards but this time it happened, and fast!. Now I have to send it to Hank's garage, if it's still open
for business. What a craptastic day, now I won't be using any v5 6000 for a looong time.

A power short killed my 60GB backup drive the other week... My uncle (thankfully) had an older backup...but I reckon I still lost about 8GB of completely irreplaceable stuff... Doesn't compare to a toasted V5 6K though - ouch!

It boots-up ok but the image is blue/green in color. Here is a rework on the RAMDAC that is somewhat of a fix in the sense that the colors are towards pink if the two pins are no longer joined. Would be nice if could find some tech docs on v3 cards maybe there's fix for this somewhere
