AVP Gold [sound problems]

Alien versus Predator (Gold Edition) problem :

While playing this game there are few sound effects, but JUST FEW... No gun-fire fx, no radar pulsing fx and so.. BUT when shooting at some targets (as Aliens or walls or shi..t) there are sound fx played ok (efects of debris or impact and stuff).
When Im playin' as Alien I hear claw-swings and man-screaming, but some fx still are not played ...
Predator same story.. etc..

I have (tricky - by patiences words) combination Voodoo3 + SB PCI.. I think that SB makes glitches.. BUT still I dont know what to do.   ???

Help  Grin
Thanx

I used to have similar Problems with my old SB PCI (and other Soundboards).

Such problems are independent from GFX installed/used (at least in my case).

It always happened, when too many Sound Channels were used (to each several effects are normally processed and added).

A good number for a SB PCI is something around 16 Channels or less. I found, that using more Channels (24 or even 32), those SFX Problems quickly became severe.

I'd recommend trying reducing the No. of Sound Channels to a lower Value for troubleshooting.
Having the very latest Sound Drivers is mandatory, of course, and significant IRQ Problems have to be resolved first, if present.

Yes, this (usually) can be done from the Game's own Advanced Menu.

If that option is not available, look for a .ini or .cfg File, where all Preferences are stored. Usually, this config File will also contain advanced Sound preferences...

Hallo to all of U!!

Death4u2 you are totaly crazy... but your tips are incredible...
Two games started at same time... no sh., !!! <- OK
Lowering snd acceleration <- OK

Tested and game worked propertly !!! (all fx OK)

Now I'm playing it with normal snd acceleration, and I'm freakin' out... Incredible action (with outstanding music), that freakz you out!!! COOL - rating 10/10

Well ok, I played AvP2 too (four months ago) but it wasn't totaly playable (coz my VooDoo 3 / 8MB) and it doesn't have so good atmosphere as AvP1!!!

Anyway THANX to you Death4u2 & FalconFly!!!!
