Sadly both Ati and Nvidia prefere to develop an enormous number of similar video board rather than to develop serious drivers. 3Dfx was different.

But then again if you say your X850 is so good in the gam'n rig, why not use your so called "precious time" with that card in the Shuttle sys instead of givin yourself as us such a hard time as waisting your so called "Precious Time" with the 9800 Pro?

@Gary: I can understand why you're mad, i stopped using ATi cards because of software problems way back, and i have to admit I'm quite the NV fanboy today. Built a machine using a X1950XT this weekend and had serious CCC installation/operation problems because of a missing .NET 2.0. Basically, setup decided to put a crippled CCC installation on the machine instead of aborting setup after the failed .NET 2.0 detection. Installation of .NET 2.0 and then a clean reinstallation of Catalyst+CCC resolved the problem, and yes, this had cost me valuable time.

But then again, time can't be THAT valuable after all, 'cause we do not only obviously have the time to rant about it, but also to answer to those rants and deliver yet another flame thread.

Maybe it would be better to give ATi your feedback, not some 3dfx forum on the web, where not a single ATi developer or other staff member will ever read this. Tell those, who are responsible. Doing so finally changes things, it may take time, but it only works by telling the developers. (Think AA and AF "politics" on GeForces and how they changed....)
