I've heard people say "That looks GAY!" and I don't think the meant that it looked good or nice.

Used to be, "gay" meant happy!

Now I think it's a softer way of saying that you are homosexual if you say "I'm gay" Donno Undecided This is an international forum so it may have a different meaning in the international community.

I was just trying to clarify if ghey meant gay. I think it does be more in a slang sort of way Undecided

BTW before I give someone the wrong idea, I'm not gay. I'm a guy that is married to a wonderful woman that has tolerated me for 30 years Grin Married for 28 of those 30 years Wink

I think this smiley looks ghey Cheesy No disrespect to anyone that may happen to be gay.

Man, relax - I just wanted to have some fun. So what if somebody really is gay? That's just fine with me - more women for the rest of us (less competition)  Wink Sooo, let's use this ghey smiles a lot more  Cheesy Hey, let's even change topic to: Ghey  Cheesy

@the topic,
Obi, I had a bunch of problems with the combo of R9600/9700/9800 with the same MB as you did and on Abit NF7-S, MSI (NF2 chipset) and Abit KD7. The bloody thing that ATI integrated in Catalyst drivers called smartgart only worsens the situation. I really don't understand why did they ever developed such a dumb thing. It's even worse then catalyst control center (and that's bull's bottom). But it's understandable, I guess - every company has to have something dumb (look @ sys. registry in Windows). The most interesting thing of all, is that professional ATI drivers are still great - FireGL drivers don't have these dumb components - they just work, and work flawlessly.

Anyway, the same MB's with NV GF4 MX440/ti4200 ran smoothly with FW. With Intel based MoBos, never any problems with FW.

heh I used Omega drivers may be that's the major difference Lips Sealed sorry forgot to mention that, my bad Lips Sealed

the Catalyst conrol center looks ghey indeed Cheesy, but it does work alot lighter when using the classic skin and in combination with Omega 7.01 no problems yet.

for the older R420 VPU's aka X800 XT PE AGP cards and below my advice is take usage of Omega Catalyst 6.03 with Radlinker 2.033

anyways to get back ontopic
Paulpsomiadis needs a mobo with an AGP Pro x2/x/4 110Watt slot hmm that's something different than a 50 watt one hmm.

Hey Paul what about the Tyan Thunder K7X Pro for Dual AthlonMP 2800+ it does have a nice 110 Watt AGP pro x2/x4 universal slot, that might be an idea too Smiley

Don't worry about mainboards guys - the problem is solved already! Wink

@Obi_Wan - I checked that mainboard too...same problem as the other Tyan mainboard... Undecided

It has PCI 64 slots next to the AGP Pro 110 slot... Tongue

And can we PLEASE keep this thread on topic! Angry

No more "WTF is ghey" questions/comments... Roll Eyes

No more about "fastwrites", my card is an OLD card (around Y2K for date) so I don't care... Roll Eyes

And please keep ATI discussions in the ATI thread... Roll Eyes

no prob bud Smiley

but can't those PCI-X 133Mhz slots be reverse compliant with normal 32Bit 33Mhz PCI slots?

or is PCI-X different than 64Bit PCI 66Mhz which is reverse compliant?
If that would work you would of been saved by the bell.

I'll do some research on this since a friend of mine has a Dual Opteron setup with PCI-X 133Mhz 64Bit PCI slots as normal 66 MHZ 64 Bit pci slots, I'll ask him about this one for ya.

afaik know it is possible, since he used his SB 5.1 in one of those 66mhz 64 Bit Slots.

Yah, I think you're right about the 64bit PCI slots... Smiley

...they're supposed to be backwards compatible. Wink

The only reason I went for the custom Compaq board is for authenticity. Grin

The Wildcat 2110 was originally shipped in the Compaq AP550 machines for industry purposes. 8)

(my driver disc even says Compaq) Roll Eyes

Anyhow...whatever - problem solved! Smiley

ah coooooool!!! 8) Grin got some benchmarks like Unreal Tournament 4.36 does it run that well in OpenGL as D3D as Quake3 Arena?

well My Dualopteron Board has been ordered today, did take the MSI MS-9617, since it has a high possitive reputation from 2CPU.Com Smiley

and yes the 5500 PCI will be placed in it as well, the ASUS AX800XT PE AGP 256MB GDDR3 is the main VGA, since I still had that laying around Smiley

The CPU's Ill be adding in it are 2 nice OpteronDC 280's each CPU has Dual Core 2.4Ghz 1MB L2 per Core, a nice total of 4 cores with each 1MB L2 w00t Grin

2x 1GB PC3200ECC Reg CL2.5 equal stiks from Kingston HyperX.
the sound card is the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 Platinum eX Smiley heh and my HDD's CD=DVD players are gonna be placed on it as well, anyways it's gonna be a nice and fast AGP x8 system, after all is done I will add a DX10 based AGP card from ATi with the RV630XT VPU or RV670 VPU if that will come, asfaik the X2600 XT [RV630XT] as X2800 Pro[RV670] will be made for the AGP x8 bus Smiley

it's mainly for music mixing with my Roland E-14 keyboard and some flight sims Smiley Mainly Dance music from the 90's Smiley

Nobody ever had the chance to benchmark the card in OGL games - which is EXACTLY why I'm building this system! Grin

I will be making EXTENSIVE benchmarks in OGL. Wink
(and GLiDE emulation using Zeckensacks GLiDE wrapper)

Also, since it is a professional card...NO D3D DRIVER! Cry

...but there may be a way around that one for 'certain' D3D games (namely a D3D -> OGL wrapper) Wink

ah right, well I can't wait till you get it fired up Paul Smiley

and heh that Dual OpteronDC 280 has in total 4 cores @ 2.4Ghz + 4x 1MB L2 in total :X, 2 cores per Opteron 280 each wth 2x 1MB L2.

in otherwords you coul see it as a Quad Core system with 4MB L2 cache with an AGP x8 slot Smiley this was the only way I could find for a quad core AGP x8 setup, just wonder how those new ATi DX10 AGP cards will do, which is also the next big thing for Sveta SMP 2007 8)

a system for music encoding and Flying the Big jets Smiley

So you're building a machine for the Wildcat 2110?

Have you had good luck with that GLIDE wrapper on the Radeon series card?

Zeckensack's latest Glide wrapper runs fine, but for Glide I just switch to my Voodoo 5 5500 PCI instead Gamma742 Tongue

It's because the only real Glide is that from a real 3dfx based card Wink

The latest version of Zeckensacks GLiDE wrapper works flawlessly on my Radeon 9700Pro...you'd swear it was a REAL 3Dfx card unless you knew different! Grin

Just use the wrapper in conjunction with the latest Omega drivers and you're set! Wink

(you'll need a good CPU though, maybe 2.0GHz or more) Smiley
