In my opinion, nothing can be more original than a game with new generation graphics and plain-old sound effects.

Pod, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Ultimate Race Pro, Myth, Rollcage, GLQuake, Hexen 2, Quake 2, Motorhead. There might be more, but this is what i can think about for now.
