HALO problems
06.02.06 at 05:04:20

I have recently purchased a used voodoo 5500 card and downloaded various drivers in order to try to play halo. I found out how to play it on this card here http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1092&SearchTerms=Halo
The problem is the game tends to lockup after about 10 minutes regaurdless or faster if I ride in any vehicles. I am currently using the x3dfx driver version 1.07 beta and the 3dfx tools from a 3dhq driver.

My system specs are
200 watt power supply
Old DELL XPS r 450 upgraded to a 1ghz celeron processor
an old soundblaster soundcard
Voodoo 5 5500
and Windows Mellnium Edition
Only locks up in halo
Is there any possible way to keep the game from locking up?????

The answer was already posted here

(although in the Thread you mentioned, it apparently works with the Raziel Evolution 0.9 Driver)

I read in another thread in this forum that you can mix and match driver components. Would it be possible to make the sfft driver's core components work on windows 9x?

Still does not work

After a painfull upgrade to xp and driver upgrades to sfft 34 alpha halo refuses to play. It has a little box that says your driver is known to have serious issues with the game.

I have played the demo under xp with voodoo4 pci (SFFT A29,the first release that runs halo fine) and it was dead stable.
