need for speed 3-4 2xFSAA issue

Hi guys,

I got a little question regarding nfs3/4. I tried to play those games at 1024x768 @ glide using the 2xFSAA. I'm not quite sure at how many fps it's exactly running, but it doesn't run smooth, if you know what I mean Smiley I mean not that smooth as at 800x600 or completly without any FSAA.

Of course I'm using the glide engine by changing the registry. The reason why I'm that confused about this 'bad' perfomance is that I'm able to run vampire redemption, for example, at 1024x768x32 d3d 2xFSAA almost perfect. And those two engines have pretty the same requirements and I didn't get the impression that one engine looks that much better than the otherone, although I'm aware that they are totally different from coding perspective.

Anyone got some further experience on this? Or is this just a limitation from the voodoo5 5500?

I had a try on Athon xp 2700+ and PIII 1,4S system using voodoo5 5500 @ win98se + 1.04.00 ref drivers.

Many thanks.

Have you tried it with V-sync and triple buffer enabled ?

Thanks for the hit Smiley just disabled the triple buffer via registry and works well even on the more complex tracks.

Many thanks
