Hm, I removed the Post from the News Section, since you already opened one up here....

Well, the Configuration is probably one of the most difficult one could possibly choose for a Voodoo2 :

- WinXP
- AthlonXP CPU
- High FSB (which Voodoo2's can have compatibility issues with)

The only thing you could do, is to mix&match components from the Athlon compatible Driver set, and test if any combination works Roll Eyes

According to Quantum Graphics, the 3dfx Chipsets have compatibility issues with modern, high FSB Systems (133MHz and above) , that can prevent operation right from the start.

I know quite a few people managed to make their Voodoo2 (even in SLI) work in AthlonXP Systems, but with WinXP as an additional burden, it becomes as difficult as it can get Roll Eyes

I found the following entry in my Guestbook :

Comment: yep! i find the driverS!
now i can try my 0ld voodoo1 on my new athlonxp2400+ under winxp Cheesy

Luckily, he left this EMail Address, which is Linked there.

It might be the best advice to EMail this user, and ask him how he managed to get his Voodoo1 running...

Otherwise, Procerus might also be a very good man to contact. He's among the most experienced Voodoo2 Users I know of, and might have additional clues where to start Smiley

Sorry that I can't help more, but I haven't used a Voodoo2 for a long time, and certainly never used WinXP Tongue

This combination is asking for Trouble, but apparently it is possible in some cases Wink

Hi rob,

when you say you can't select the Voodoo2 for games what do you mean?  A Voodoo2 won't work under Windows XP for DirectX/Direct3D games.  It will only work for glide games and, using a minigl, for OpenGL games.

You can probably fix the dll errors by removing that driver set and trying a different one.  Try Koolsmokey's or PeDiniz's drivers from FalconFly's Voodoo2 download page.

I have just bought and installed Windows XP to its own partition so I will be experimenting with Voodoo2 drivers soon.  I'm multi-booting and I'm afraid XP is the least used OS on this system so it may not be for a few days yet. Roll Eyes

I'll post to say how I get on.

SLI working fine on XP here for glide and OpenGL (minigl).  I'm using Anthony's Obsidian2 driver but I'm sure Anthony's Voodoo2 driver would work just as well for a conventional Voodoo2 card.

Just download it and make sure to follow the installation instructions.
